How to let ChatGPT draft your purchase invoices (and keep the approval)
Connect ChatGPT to your GrowMore shop, tell it what you bought in one sentence, and it drafts the purchase invoice in GrowMore. The draft waits in AI drafts, with what ChatGPT assumed, until you approve, edit or reject it. Nothing posts unless you, or a posting key you granted, say so.
Before you start
- A GrowMore shop on any plan. Launch, the free plan, includes 30 AI agent calls a month and drafts; every new shop also starts with Basic’s 100 calls for its first 300 documents.
- The owner’s role, or a role the owner allowed to connect an AI agent.
- ChatGPT on a business plan: that is where ChatGPT lets a connector create things in another app.
Step 1: add GrowMore to ChatGPT
In ChatGPT, add a custom connector and give it GrowMore’s MCP address, https://app.letsgrowmore.app/mcp. ChatGPT then opens GrowMore’s “Connect an AI app” page.
Step 2: choose what it may do
Sign in again: connecting an app lets a program act for you, so GrowMore asks for a fresh sign-in. Pick the shop, and tick what the app may do: Read reports, Propose movements, or both. Posting is a separate switch for each kind of document, off by default. Leave it off for now, and choose Allow.
Step 3: say what you bought
Tell ChatGPT the purchase in one complete sentence: the supplier, the item, how many, the price, cash or credit. For example:
bought fifty Samsung A56 from Zain Trading at 210, credit
ChatGPT calls GrowMore’s propose tool. GrowMore finds the supplier and the item by name, registers the fifty units with their serial numbers (scanned on the invoice, or generated when it posts), and marks what you did not say as “assumed, please check”: here, the currency (the shop’s own) and the lot number. If two suppliers or two items match your words, GrowMore asks instead of guessing, and ChatGPT puts the question to you.
Step 4: approve in GrowMore
Open AI drafts, under Review. The draft shows your sentence, what was assumed, what was asked and who proposed it. Approve and post posts it through the same code as a hand-typed invoice: the balance check, the lock date and the rounding rules all apply. Or edit it first, or reject it.
Write the sentence the way you would say it
GrowMore reads the words you would use at the counter. A few habits make the draft complete on the first try:
- One sentence for each purchase: the supplier, the item, how many, the price, cash or credit.
- Name the supplier and the item the way your books name them; a code works too.
- Say the quantity you mean. If you name an item without a number, GrowMore asks rather than taking one the agent made up.
- Say the day if it was not today. A day you mention and the agent leaves out becomes a question, never silently today.
When you trust it: a posting key
If you would rather ChatGPT posted purchase invoices itself, the owner can switch on a posting key for purchase invoices only, with a daily amount in the shop’s currency. Everything else it prepares stays a draft. Every connection is listed in Settings › Connected apps and can be revoked there; the very next request after a revocation is refused.
What ChatGPT cannot do here
It cannot delete a posted document, edit a posted entry, change a lock date or see another shop. Those limits are enforced by GrowMore’s server, not by the model’s good manners.
Read how the agent works, or which assistant to choose.
